It's been a while since i've updated my blog.. sorry for the delay and here I go ..
August 3rd, 2008. That was the day Bharat wished Vyshnavi "happy friendship day" online. She replied by wishing him the same. They kept chatting about stuff like the discipline in engineering that they joined, how do they like IIT etc.. Interestingly, though they have never talked to one another before, it didnt feel new nor did it feel weird. Though the chatting stopped for the day, they resumed it the next day.
Soon they started chatting everyday and the chat sessions were always more than two hours in length. She talked to him about her life at IIT, the problems she faced, the new friends she made, how she felt alone at times. He came to understand that she was at a very emotionally vulnerable stage in her life. Even her family didnt give much thought about why she was so. He talked to her as long as he can. If she had any problem with her courses he used to help her out, generally the help was not as much related to the subject, it was always about giving her a slight motivational push. She too, felt very comfortable talking to him. She felt that he gave her courage to face her issues. They both soon became good friends.
One day they both were chatting and she mentioned that she had won a prize in a singing competition. He asked her whether she would sing for him. She asked him for his phone no the moment he gave her his no, she called. He didnt expect her to call. He, while asking thought that she would sing for him some time later.. not instantly. They conversation dint feel weird though they were talking directly for the first time..
Soon the chatting sessions that were previously more than two hours long now turned into phone conversation sessions of the same duration.. and they were growing closer, she felt that he instilled new confidence in her. Soon, her acads began to improve and she started to grow ever more confident. They talked about a lot of things, the guys who proposed to her, the guys who still irritated her with her proposals and the ones who still followed her asking her to consider her proposal. There were guys who asked her out on a dinner date and there were a few marriage proposals too. She always asked him for help.
There is this one marriage proposal brought by her aunt that stood out. Her aunt put forward a proposal for a match with some one she knew. Her aunt's proposal was as the guy is now doing his MBA, they will have the engagement now and as soon as she completes her degree, the marriage would happen. She was shocked by the proposal and didnt wanna marry the guy. She was afraid of telling her aunt strongly as she thought her aunt would feel bad. She asked him for advice and he told her to follow what her heart says. He gave her enough courage to call her aunt up and deny the proposal.
Without their being aware of it, they grew very close. Their relationship is now much more than friendship in a conventional sense. He wasnt aware of this. But she very much is..
