I've realized that this series of posts have been really long and I haven't been regular in posting. I blame it on my laziness as always :). This would be the final post in the series of posts with the title "A love story". I reaffirm that this is not my love story nor is it any of my friends'. It is just a dramatization of a few experiences I've had and a few experiences that my friends have gone through. The post before the last one ended with Vyshnavi and Bharat growing close.
Soon Vyshnavi started developing feelings for Bharat. But, she wasnt completely clear as to what she wanted from him. Their semesters came to an end and they left for their respective homes. She enrolled herself into a 10 day Meditation course where in she is supposed to remain silent and in meditation for the duration of the course. She wasnt allowed to talk to any of her fellow course mates. She found it hard at first, but, later she found it very easy and very liberating. She introspected on the status of her relationship with Bharat. She came to a conclusion that she is deeply in love with him. It isnt a love that expects something in return. It is just plain unconditional love.
Soon, the course came to an end and she emerged as a new person with newly formed ideas and thoughts. The first thing she did was to call him up. They chatted for long. She missed him badly during the course. But she wasnt expecting that the missing would be mutual. She was surprised. Bharat noticed that something is different with her since the moment she called him up after the course. After considerable effort, he was able make her express her feelings. He was speechless after she told him that she loved him. He, not being sure of what his feelings were to her, asked for a few days of time to let her know what he thought.
Finally after 2 days of mind blankness, he was sure that he loved her back and expressed it her on the new year's eve on Dec 31, 2008, 11:59 pm. Sadly, all these proposals were carried out on the phone due to logistic difficulties. A few months after this event, he got a chance to express his love to her in person. He went down on his knee and told her that he loves her with the whole of his heart. He had never seen her so happy. She was so happy that tears started to emerge from her eyes. He gently took her face in his hands and wiped the tears off her eyes. He whispered "I love you" in her ear. He, then softly kissed her cheek and gently touched his lips to hers. The kiss seemed to last for eternity and they lost track of time. They would preserve that moment for their entire life.
They became even closer after that moment. It sometimes felt like they are two halves of a whole. They had their little fights but those little fights always drew them even closer. As the professors at IIT say, a person walks in as a boy and walks out as a man. Their thoughts, their thinking, their relationship became more mature and they started to think of their future together.
But, there is a big mismatch between his ambitions and hers. He didnt exactly know how he would fit her in his life. He was also slightly afraid of what his parents would say. Soon, the placement season came to an end. He got a job in London and she got hers in Mumbai. He didnt figure out a way to work their relationship out. They finally thought that it would be best to end their relationship and start seeing other people. They both know deep down in their heart that they would be special for one another always. And the moments that they spent together would be priceless and would never be forgotten.
This is how the story ends folks. I am sorry for the sad ending but I felt that is the way life is.... rather that is may be the way life would be in my opinion.. please check the fields below if you like this post :) :)
